About the project

What the Fun! is an innovative project designed to foster a dynamic and supportive environment for collaborative learning and creative expression among young people, youth workers, educators and youth leaders. The project addresses the growing challenge of declining motivation and engagement of young poeple in meaningful leisure activities. At its core, What the Fun! aims to raise awareness about quality leisure opportunities, create a digital tool to connect young people with these spaces, and enhance their participation in enriching activities.

What the Fun! is a groundbreaking initiative, setting new standards in youth
engagement and digital innovation. It aims not only to create a unique platform for leisure and learning but also to empower young people to have a say in the activities and spaces that matter to them.

The key outcomes of the project include:

  • ArtMaps: Artistic maps created from youth perspectives, showcasing local communities.
  • Online Platform: A digital tool designed to help young people discover and access quality leisure spaces.
  • Quality Badge: A recognition system for exceptional youth leisure opportunities.

The partner consortium includes Vzw Elegast (Belgium), Udruga Prizma (Croatia), Kuldigas Novada Pasvaldiba (Latvia), Fundacion Splora (Spain), and Fundación Universidad de Valladolid (Spain).

The project is running from September 1, 2023, to October 31, 2025, with a budget of €250,000, it operates under project number 2023-1-BE05-KA220-YOU-000166921 as an Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership, co-financed by the European Union.
